Bible Chapter: Ezekiel 47 & 48

Because the Bible is practical, here are some statements to get you thinking.

1.  Write one or two key thoughts that come from today’s reading.
Ezekiel had a vision of a life-giving river coming out of the temple.  It flows and gets deeper and wider.  It reaches the place where a person can swim in it.  It is a river filled with life and gives life wherever it touches.  Then, this miraculous river flows into the Dead Sea and turns it into a thriving and vibrant lake.  This is interesting to me in that I have been to the Dead Sea.  I have floated in it and felt the strong mineral content.  There is NO life in it.  It is so buoyant you can’t even float a boat in it.  However, this vision shows an abundance of fish and vegetation.  The Dead Sea is no longer dead.  The river will bring fruitfulness and healing.  It is living water.
We also see God’s promise of an inheritance for those who follow the Lord.  There are specific boundaries mentioned.  These are for those who did not go astray, those who truly follow God’s desires, purposes and standards.

2.  What can I apply in my life from the reading?
What an awesome way to end the book:  The Lord is there. There is nothing better than God’s presence.  The book ends with an amazing promise that God will live eternally among His people.  What a blessing this will be for God’s people to enjoy His constant and powerful presence.  Our eternal home will have no sorrow, disappointment or pain.  Wow!!  Eternity with the Lord is impossible to fully grasp.  Don’t do anything to jeopardize this fantastic eternity.

3.  How can I help someone?
Think of all the most exciting and desirable experiences in life.  Add them all up. The sum of them won’t even come close to what it means to be in the presence of God.  Make Jesus your Lord and have His promise of an eternal home with Him.
