Bible Chapter: Psalms 123 & 124

Because the Bible is practical, here are some statements to get you thinking.

1.  Write one or two key thoughts that come from today’s reading.
Unto You, Lord, I lift up my eyes.  Believers in God continually look to Him for help and comfort.  They look forward to a time when God will put an end to the hatred and evil in the world. Lord, have mercy on us.  Some day the Lord will return and deliver believers from all the evil.
If the Lord had not been on our side.  Wow, what a thought that is, God and I being on the same side.  Without God’s help we would be swallowed up and overcome.  Without God, we have no chance for victory over the difficulties of life.  The spiritual battle would be lost.  Only God can save us.  God will win the spiritual war.

2.  What can I apply in my life from the reading?
Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.  Whatever help we need we have it in God.  We need this constant reminder because we can easily be overwhelmed in the battle. The spiritual battle continually works to destroy us and cause us to give up.  So, keep on looking to the Lord and remembering that we are on the same side as God as we fully submit to and trust in Him.

3.  How can I help someone?
Don’t get sidetracked.  Continually trust God and live for Him.  God is our help.
