Bible Chapter: Psalms 113 & 114

Because the Bible is practical, here are some statements to get you thinking.

1.  Write one or two key thoughts that come from today’s reading.
Praise the Lord!! All of God’s servants must praise the Lord from now and forever. From early morning to late at night, God’s name is to be praised because He is high above all the nations. There is no one like the Lord. He cares about the poor and afflicted and gives them His help.
The psalmist expressed delight in the amazing things God had done for Israel. When God delivered them from slavery in Egypt, He did many miracles. The psalmist expressed this thought by saying that the sea fled and the Jordan River turned back. It is interesting that he asks a question of the sea, what ails you? And then he tells the earth to tremble at the presence of the Lord.

2.  What can I apply in my life from the reading?
Verse three says, From the rising of the sun to its going down The LORD'S name is to be praised. This is really good advice to help a person through everyday life. Sometimes our days can be very long and filled with many challenges. Even these long and difficult days will be better when we can remember to praise the name of the Lord throughout whatever we are experiencing. The name of the Lord is to be blessed from this time and forevermore. The more we can remember all that God has done the better off we will be.

3.  How can I help someone?
It is a great thing to remember that God is always with his people and then share that encouraging truth with others. As we can encourage people to praise the name of the Lord, their lives will be better.
