Bible Chapter: Psalms 115 & 116

Because the Bible is practical, here are some statements to get you thinking.

1.  Write one or two key thoughts that come from today’s reading.
God is worthy to receive all the glory.  Honor and praise never must go to any person, only God.  God is the creator of everything.  There are manmade idols who are made to look like people, but they can’t do anything.  And yet, people worship them.  They cannot speak or hear.  This Psalms challenges God’s people to put their full trust in the Lord.  God will bless those who fear Him.
God is our Deliverer.  God hears our cries to Him.  His salvation leads us to a relationship of love for God.  God protects us and has an amazing eternal plan for all who receive the gift of salvation He offers.

2.  What can I apply in my life from the reading?
Life is important to people.  Life is important to God.  God created life and gave us a commandment to not commit murder.  So, there is an interesting verse that tells us that precious in the sight of the lord is the death of His saints.  If life is so important, why is the death of a saint precious?  Because that is the time when the faithful servant of the Lord enters into God’s presence and receives the promise Jesus made for a home in heaven with Him.  We mourn the loss of a loved one.  We are sorry to see them leave us.  But, for them, and for God, it is eternal victory.  I must always remember this when a believer in Jesus leaves this world.  For them, it is a joyous occasion.

3.  How can I help someone?
Give God the glory in everything you do.  Remember that, it will make all the difference in the world.  And, when God calls you home as a believer, it will be amazing.
