Bible Chapter: Daniel 7 & 8

Because the Bible is practical, here are some statements to get you thinking.

1.  Write one or two key thoughts that come from today’s reading.
The Lord gave Daniel visions. These talk about future events.  Bible scholars have studied them in depth to strive to understand what they mean.  The visions and dreams describe future events (and from our point some of them are historical events) as well as end time events.  The different symbols in his visions represent various world leaders and kingdoms.  It also shows that, in the end, God will win.  God will be the judge and ruler.  The forces of evil will be destroyed.  God’s eternal kingdom will never go away.

2.  What can I apply in my life from the reading?
Many of these prophetic dreams and visions are difficult to fully grasp.  We can see that God does know what He is doing, and that He is all powerful.  We can see that God has revealed many things before they happened.  This gives us hope and confidence to trust in God.  God has made many promises and I can trust that He will come through with what He says.  It sure looks like we are living in the end times.  These can be frightening.  Now it is more important than ever to obey and trust God and leave everything else to Him.

3.  How can I help someone?
Even when you don’t fully understand everything (and no one can understand everything in life), put your full trust in the Lord.  His track record is amazing and He will follow through with His promises. The world is a crazy place.  God is a source of peace.
